Bil Martin Jr. has been teacher, editor, storyteller, and folksinger, and he is the author of more than two hundred books, including Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and most recently, Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3, also illustrated by Lois Ehlert. He lives in Campbell, Texas.
John Archambault is a poet, journalist, and storyteller who worked with Bill Martin Jr. for more than a decade. Their collaborations include Knots on a Counting Rope, which was a School Library Journal Best Book of the Year. He lives in Idyllwild, California.
Lois Ehlert is a designer an illustrator whose work has recently recived awards for the Cociety of illustrators, the National Endownment for the Arts, and the American Institute of Graphic Artists. She has illustrated more than twenty books for children, including Eating the Alphabet and Waiting for Wings, which she wrote herself. She makes her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
